OUR MOTIVATION
“We want to make it easier for everyone in Lane County to access healthy, local, nutritious and affordable food.”
Grow Lane County is a collaborative county-wide effort initiated and funded by Lane Community Health Council in collaboration with Food for Lane County, Upper Willamette Soil & Water Conservation District, and the Food Systems Consultant, Ensoterra.
The project is designed to enhance individual and community health and develop a more robust food system through increased knowledge of and accessible to locally grown fresh food for urban and rural residents.

The development of a Food Security Coalition is one aspect of the Grow Lane County project with the purpose of bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to improve regional food security. The Coalition aims to fill community-identified gaps in order to provide solutions, recommendations and opportunities to improve regional food security.
The Coalition is open to members of the Lane County food system, which includes individuals connected to an organization or representing themselves in the following food system sectors. Membership will represent the community as a whole, from the Cascades to the Coast, and welcomes any level of experience.
THE COALITION
More families can access affordable, fresh, locally grown food, and more residents are connected to wellness programs and community activities that reduce isolation.
Our food system allows the healthiest choice to be an easy choice.
Better food access and stronger community connections support improved health for everyone.
Reduced socio-economic gaps allow communities that have been historically left, to see and experience real improvements
